Soup to Nuts: A Meat Processing plant gets the whole package
Background:
Mountain City Meat (MCM) runs two large meat processing facilities in Denver and Nashville. They process, package and supply various cuts of meat to restaurant chains. Shortly after expanding into a new facility, they needed to upgrade their mobile computers. They were also looking for local vendors for blank labels as well as preventive maintenance and repair services. MCM needed a partner who understood their unique business situation for several reasons.
» The large volume of meat products
» High humidity in the plant that resulted in excessive condensation
» Freezing temperatures during processing and storage
» The time-sensitive nature of providing meat products to restaurants
» Price sensitivity due to the economy
Challenge:
MCM had tried to partner with several companies who could not offer a complete solution. One company could provide all the products and services, but had no local reps and wanted to charge travel time for a 400-mile round trip if a service call was needed. Another wanted to provide a solution but had no experience with one of the three brands of thermal printers used by MCM. A third possible vendor had quoted prices that were significantly higher than other competitors. MCM’s frustration was growing; they needed to find a vendor, and soon, before anything started to go wrong.
Solution:
When BRS called MCM, a wave of relief rolled through the plant. Finally, they would have a local vendor to offer some peace of mind. BRS offices are only 15 minutes away, and their reps have been able to respond to MCM’s emergency service calls not just within the normal one day response, but within hours. Besides the good timing, BRS has provided prices lower than all competitors on a full range of products and services including:
» Freezer-grade label adhesive to stand up to the cold temperatures without peeling
» Refurbished scanners to save money versus buying new equipment
» Researching and working with plant workers to find the ideal mobile computer configurations
» Preventive maintenance service on thermal printers to keep them running smoothly
» Local reps to make quick repairs when necessary
BRS can save you money while offering excellent, responsive service, too. For information on our package pricing deals, please contact your local BRS representative.
