Background: A current business relationship leads to a long-term partnership with a software company
The relationship between BRS and NTM began several years ago when BRS supplied tag stock and barcode equipment to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Issue: Software company struggles to provide supplies and equipment
We received a call from John Mallory with Vanderbilt Medical Center, Division of Animal Care, he was looking for a secondary source for cage cards (tag stock) and ribbons to be used on a thermal transfer printer. We continued to receive calls from Animal Laboratories located on University Campuses across the country using NTM software because out dated equipment was becoming difficult to maintain.
BRS decided to contact NTM. We learned that this software company welcomed our assistance in providing the hardware and consumable product to their customers. NTM’s focus is software development, not barcode products.
Solutions: A dedicated website provides the whole package
After several conversations with NTM and a trip to their office located in California we began understanding how BRS could help. BRS quickly went to work to find a mobile computer that met the specifications needed for the application. BRS created a website to make ordering supplies and equipment EASY for the end user. User may choose among several tag layouts, ribbons, mobile computers, and Datamax printers, which all have been tested and approved by NTM. In addition, BRS went the extra step and created a video demonstrating how to load a Datamax printer which has proven to be a very successful tool for the end users – who may also call BRS for phone support.
